Inaccuracies in family life, based on daughter's interview

[edit]

Although Woody's mother died in 1920, when he was 8, his father was still alive. His father was born in Indiana to German immigrant parents (not French or Scottish). At the time of his wife's death in 1920, Woody's father was 65 years old and in failing health. After living with various adult children (Woody's siblings), he moved back to Indiana, where he passed away at the home of a sister in 1932.

Hi Stratton.jj, do you have an citations for this information or even the name of his father? (Since there might be published obituaries.) Yuchitown (talk) 15:37, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what is considered an acceptable source, especially if it's behind a paywall, on Wikipedia, so I will list what I found, and let someone who is more comfortable editing a Wikipedia article update the article. Thank you!
Woody's father was Alexander Crumbo, born 1855 in New Albany, Indiana, to German immigrants Johann Heinrich Crumbo and Johanna Wilhelmina Hubner. Alexander died in 1932 in Monon, Indiana.
Woody's mother was Mary Ann Hurd, born 1871 in Kansas, to members of the Potawatomi tribe John P Hurd and Mary Elizabeth Wilmette. Mary Ann died in 1920 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

Thanks for compiling this! Primary sources can't always be used but the two obituaries from newspapers can definitely be used since they are published, secondary sources. Yuchitown (talk) 00:56, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Following up, I hope the information is now accurate. Feel free to make changes. Just be sure to use secondary sources. Yuchitown (talk) 03:24, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
