First camel born in America

While searching out a source for a {dead-link} for another article I found an interesting tidbit I could not help but list here. Not really enough information to put in the live page, but I hope a future editor will find it useful.

"On the 9th of last month (being March 9th, 1869) a camel was born at Woodward Gardens in California; the first one born in America."
