Like it says above, we are working on this article for a course assignment. Anything we removed, we replaced with equivalent information. We have enjoyed the research we've done and hope this article can continue to be improved! Gtueller (talk) 05:45, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Two States are listed twice

[edit]

Wyoming and Washington are both listed with two different dates. Anyone know which are correct? NCdave (talk) 22:01, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ben's Peer Review

[edit]

Hi Guys,

It looks like you have some good information here. The last sentance of the intro paragraph seems a little akward with all of the commas. Possibly rephrase it. Perhaps you were planning to add this later, but I would be interested in why women were excluded from jury service. Also, it says that Utah was the first state to include women in jury service in 1898, but the timeline says that Wyoming was the first state in 1870.

The article seems very historical and unbiased. I am interested to see what you guys will do with it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wolfleyb (talkcontribs) 20:54, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Morgan's Peer Review

[edit]

This article does a really good job at being clear and concise. The tag is very clear and the article follows it nicely. You also did a really good job of finding good reliable court cases to illustrate the increased participation of women in United States juries. My suggestion would be that it may help the readers understand the increased participation more if you are able to find a source that gives the numerical value increased women's participation, like a percentage of women in state juries in the early 1900's compared to it now. Or you could elaborate on what the court cases were, and then it may be clearer to the reader as to how they helped increase participation in state juries. This article is very well done, and I think the timeline that shows when states allowed women to participate is really helpful in providing clear information to the readers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Morganclark122 (talkcontribs) 14:10, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Research

[edit]

Hey fellow Wikipedia users! I have been doing some research on this topic that I would love to add to the areas you have edited. You guys have some great information included as of now. I was thinking of adding further information on the role of citizenship and coverture laws, as well as the overall idea of female exclusion (which it appears you guys have worked on, too). Let me know if anything I add needs to be worked through! Thanks and happy editing!
