Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... its qualification tournament starts in a month (see http://chess-news.ru/en/node/11389 ). I'll try to improve this page later with more references. Same goes for the 2014 World Championship. --Koppapa (talk) 11:42, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly this page should not be deleted. Now it is a historical sports event.
And now for the rumors: As of this date, Hou Yifan and Mariya Muzychuk have not been paid for the Women's World Championship match because the Ukraine Chess Federation hasn't paid FIDE yet. Hou Yifan was supposed to get a prize of 120,000 euros, and Mariya Muzychuk was supposed to get 80,000. (Fact: The Ukraine Chess Federation owes FIDE 60,000 euros. FIDE has suspended the UCF and "officially" Ukraine players have "no rating.") Back to rumor: The UCF says they don't have to pay; it should be appropriated by the Lviv City Council. More rumor: Hou Yifan has withdrawn from the 2016 FIDE Women's Grand Prix Series. 173.174.85.204 (talk) 13:01, 18 April 2016 (UTC)Eric[reply]
