The extreme flatness of the terrain and the recent creation of the lake both need to be mentioned, as they affect its unique drainage. --Wetman 19:58, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Naming

[edit]

What's the origins for the name?. The Canadian Encyclopedia states it's after English chemist William Hyde Wollaston[1]. The Encyclopedia of Saskatchewan states it's after HBC's George Hyde Wollaston[2]. Based on a quick internet search I tend to agree with the Encyclopedia of Saskatchewan. Wollaston Lake fires

[edit]

I need a little help re fires. The Sask tourism site says the Hidden Bay Campground is closed due to a fire. Which fire burned the campground? Was it this one from 2011, or this one from 2021? The 2011 article talks about the community but mentions nothing about the west side of the lake. The 2021 fire doesn't mention the campground specifically, but mentions places nearby. Or was it a completely different fire from a different year? One more thing, has the campground been reopened, if not any word on if or when it will again? I'll do some more googling myself, but if anyone has more info, that'd be great! Masterhatch (talk) 20:47, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
