B class review
[edit]B class. There is some confusion about the following sentences in paragraph 3 under Second World War. "The corps was ordered to push the enemy on its sector toward either Lake Ladoga or Jänisjoki. Concurrently, other forces of the Army of Karelia would attack to the north of Lake Yanisyarvi before turning south. Together, these two movements would trap enemy formations on the isthmus between Lake Ladoga and Lake Yanisyarvi. The attack would then continue to the Svir and Lake Onega."
"The corps was ordered" indicates that this was a plan. The use of the word "would attack" and "would trap" and "attack would then" makes it sound as if the text was still referring to the plan. Do you mean that the above 4 sentences are the plan or the result? If the Soviet forces were trapped, then instead of "would attack" it should read "attacked" (sentence 2); instead of "would trap" it should read "trapped" (sentence 3); instead of "attack would then continue" it should read "attack then continued" (sentence 4). If the Soviet forces were not trapped, then another sentence is needed after sentence 4, for example: "Most of the Soviet forces escaped." Thanks. Djmaschek (talk) 03:10, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
