Plot shortening

[edit]

Although I do agree older revisions are too specific and long, the last one made to the "Plot" section made it incoherent, in my opinion, as it sounds like it'll tell much but ends up skipping a major part of the movie altogether. Wouldn't it be better to restructure it from ground zero?

Fair use rationale for Image:With Honors Soundtrack.gif

[edit]

Image:With Honors Soundtrack.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Political persuasion of Prof. Pitkannan

[edit]

The plot currently suggests that Pitkannan is a big government liberal, though when viewing clips of the movie, that appears to be incorrect. In the most prominent speech, "genius of the Constitution", Pitkannan is openly derisive of political correctness, hostile to the power of the presidency, and dismissive of Simon's vagrancy, to the point of suggesting that Simon is capable, but only wishes to get drunk. It sounds like Pitkannan is anything but a big government liberal. He may be conservative, or he may be simply viciously cynical. While the actor playing the part was certainly a liberal in his own right, it would appear that the actor is parodizing his old foe, William F. Buckley, Jr., who was a staunch conservative. I'm interested in hearing if others have evidence for the character being liberal, because it appears to be incorrect. Corydon76 (talk) 05:26, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
