Naturalisation

[edit]

This source [1] says nothing about Ben Yedder being naturalised in September 2001 due to his father's naturalisation. It is WP:OR to assume his father was or was not naturalised at all, but surprise surprise, this page is not about his father. There also was not a source indicated for Ben Yedder's father's place and date of birth.

If we look at actual sources, [2] in 2009 Ben Yedder was unable to play futsal for France away in Chile because he only had a Tunisian passport. Wikipedia is based on what sources say about subjects, not our own anecdotes about fathers, or interpretations of laws.

This does not count as WP:NPA because "Comment on content, not the contributors", but the user who added this original research has a long user talk history of warnings for original research and disruptive editing on the topic of nationality.

The source says "EFF", which if you read the definition at page 14781, means "EFF, enfant saisi par l’effet collectif attaché à l’acquisition de la nationalité française par ses parents." For his father, it's "NAT", which means "NAT, naturalisé français".
It's clearly written that his father BEN YEDDER (Mustapha) was born on 28-10-1950 in Ben-Arous (Tunisia).
You are making a confusion between nationality and passport. Having no French passport before 2009 does not mean he did not have French nationality, and indeed I prove with an official source that he acquired it in 2001. Frenchl (talk) 23:12, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And the source does not say he was unable to play futsal for France but that he was unable to take the plane at Roissy airport. It is WP:OR to assume he was unable to play futsal for France. Frenchl (talk) 23:32, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And here is another proof that he already had French nationality in 2007 : https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRZvxPzjr3ZPdKly6xuW60TnetoLuYAodKYYcmf0hhFoA&s (from this article on So Foot) Frenchl (talk) 23:39, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
