Let me try to explain this to whatever editor reverted the necessary change I made to this article. The article indicates that Fred Shapiro expressed support for Wygal as the author of the Serenity Prayer, but later backed away from that support. That is just not accurate. Shapiro's article that backed away from support was published in 2014. Shapiro's final word on the subject was in the New Yale Book of Quotations. The New Yale Book of Quotations was published in 2021. Shapiro's final conclusion was one of strong support for Wygal's claim.
