Wahkeenah, I did the character profiles, mostly from memory. I had to double-check a couple of things on my videotapes of the series to make sure I got things in the right order, but the rest came from me. There aren't any comprehensive sites on Wings that I can find; it was a popular series, but not a smash hit like Quantum Leap, and aired before there was the kind of fan presence on the Internet that there is today. One of my favorites, as well as my mother's and sister's. I'd have to say the most memorable plot device was Sandy and her obsession with 'Joey-bear'; that one still makes us laugh. It's a tie for my favorite scenes: between Lowell cutting a hole around himself through the floor of the old Hackett house and dropping through to the first floor, and Joe's speech to Helen in the elevator when he convinced her to marry him. "That's our marriage... those are our kids... that's our lifetime." It'll be nice to have the DVDs come out. LadyEternal 23:25, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Interior scenes were, of course, filmed on a soundstage Is that soundstage as in Soundstage?? I'm no native speaker, so please excuse the stupid question. JanCK 23:31, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Not sure where to put this but on the recurring characters Gayle is left out. CBS DVD?

Why did CBS release the DVD's if the show originally aired on NBC? Anyone know?

Because CBS is owned by and is partnered with Paramount, the company that produced the show and owns the distribution rights. And as far as why the series aired on NBC when it was produced by CBS, since Paramount owned the rights to it, they were free to air it on whatever network they could make a deal with, and they simply felt airing it on NBC would be more beneficial to the show's success. It happens a lot more than you would think; Seinfeld and Frasier were also CBS/Paramount shows that ended up airing on NBC.Raymondluxuryacht 21:47, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Just to make it clear to people who don't know how TV works, a production studio pitches it to as many places it can to get the series aired. Many things can factor into this, but the studio wants to make money by selling it to a network. If CBS decided not to air it, of course they would pitch it to other networks. Now with Wings, and Fraiser, it might be slightly different, because they are both spinoffs of NBC successesful series, Cheers. So NBC may have actually commisioned Paramount to creat the pilot, specifically for them. Any way this is all pretty mute in this discussion, because at the time Viacom did not own CBS. So they would produce for any of the major 4 without a problem. EnsRedShirt 21:10, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Looking for help writing an article about the spin-offs and crossovers of this series

I am writing an article about all of the series which are in the same shared reality as this one through spin-offs and crossovers. I could use a little help expanding the article since it is currently extremely dense and a bit jumbled with some sentence structures being extremely repetitive. I would like to be able to put this article into article space soon. Any and all help in writing the article would be appreciated, even a comment or two on the talk page would help. Wings Theme on Frasier

In the Cheers tie-in section, it is noted that Niles plays the Wings theme in an episode of Frasier. This is both right and wrong. It is unlikely that Niles was playing the Wings theme since it takes place as the same universe as Wings, and therefore there is presumably not a tv show in that universe that has that theme song. Merger proposal
