[edit]Too much POV and poor English yet again demonstrate why Wikipedia is not the place to source information on sensitive topics like this. Great for looking at the anatomy of an orange though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.149.67.157 (talk) 11:46, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
It's still pretty atrocious, six years later, for such a significant turning point in history... Take, for example;
<< At the time of the collapse, the Empire embodied the direct rule of foreign territories as an integral part of a supra-national enterprise, called the British Empire. Britain, as the colonising power, directly controlled territories, in partial or complete disregard of the will of the indigenous peoples of those territories to rule themselves. This was especially true in the British Empire of Africa, which was falling apart between the years 1957–1965,[6] during the period of time when the United Kingdom was under Macmillan's leadership. >>
Poorly phrased, factually incorrect at least in part, slanted POV with poor sourcing for assertions, etc. What even was the "British Empire of Africa"? Harami2000 (talk) 03:00, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
Winds of Change (song)
[edit]"Winds of Change (Song)" seems to incorrectly redirect to this page. I think it should redirect to "Wind of Change (song)" Inhahe (talk) 22:11, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Wind of Change → Wind of Change speech – or perhaps to Wind of Change (speech). I don't see that this speech is the main meaning. There are lots of works with that name. The Wind of Change (disambiguation) should be moved here. ospalh (talk) 08:37, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

Wind of Change effect in all of Africa
[edit]In this article, mention is made of the implication and effects of the "Wind of Change" on the Portuguese colonies. But what about all of colonial Africa? Especially the Belgian possessions of the Congo, Rwanda and Burundi, the vast French colonies in West Africa and Equatorial Africa, Madagascar and Djibouti, the Spanish colonies in Africa, and perhaps even Italian administered UN trust territory of Somalia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amsterdave (talk • contribs) 13:00, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
"Winds of Change" versus "Wind of Change"
[edit]The following is currently cited as original research in this article:
- The speech is also popularly (and inaccurately) known as the "winds of change" speech. Macmillan himself, in titling the first volume of his memoirs Winds of Change (1966), seems to have acquiesced to popular misquotation[original research?].
While I understand the view of the person who added the "original research" citation, I still think this comparison is very much worth underlining. So I've had a go at toning down the language in the article. If you disagree, I'd be happy to hear your views. Gregory 16:49, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
