Wilshire Regent was the "Family Affair" apartment building
[edit]Hello Wikipedians! My first time starting a "Talk" so please excuse any mistakes on my part. I've just discovered that the Wilshire Regent was used in establishing shots for the luxury apartment that housed the main characters in the American television show "Family Affair" that aired from 1966 to 1971. Several clips on YouTube provide evidence for this, but unfortunately when I tried to post the URLs here, Wikipedia objected. There's also a Wikimapia entry for "Family Affair" but I'm not able to properly copy the link in here either. Wikipedia sure is strict!
This information about Family Affair is not included in the Wilshire Regent entry, nor is the Wilshire Regent included in the Family Affair entry, so it may be a worthwhile add.
It's ironic that the producers would choose a building on Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles to represent one that is supposed to be in New York City, but I suppose that was easier for filming. Anyway, if I tried to edit the Wilshire Regent entry directly, I'm sure I'd mess it up, so I humbly leave this comment, hoping someone skilled in wiki editing can update the entry. - In one clip on YouTube called "Family Affair (S3) 'The Unsound of Music' pt.13.flv" the first several floors of the Wilshire Regent can be seen at 3 minutes and 28 seconds into the video. In another clip entitled "Family Affair Season 1 The Mother Daughter Dinner P1" the building can again be seen at 2:09 and 5:44. 2601:447:D000:11EE:89BF:B941:DC3F:B587 (talk) 05:18, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
