[edit]

An image used in this article, File:The Rubber Tree book.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale as of 3 January 2012

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

Ok with speedy deletion: the above was a wrong upload, already replaced by appropriately formatted and labelled file. Wim van Dorst (talk) 00:42, 4 January 2012 (UTC).[reply]

Maclaren or MacLaren?

[edit]

It's customary to put a capital letter after the "Mac" - like "MacDonald's". Clan MacLaren[1] certainly believe that there ought to be one. Most Scouting sources are with a lower case "l". Anyone know for sure which? Alansplodge (talk) 01:56, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • He himself wrote his name with lowercase 'l'. I'll try to find out where I got the proof of this spelling. Note that he was born McLaren (without 'a' and capital 'L'), but consistently used his mother's name (de Bois) and Maclaren in his business publications. I have nor found a formal name change, but did find several other persons named 'de Bois Maclaren' who are therefore likely to be family. Wim van Dorst (talk) 21:22, 31 July 2012 (UTC).[reply]
