More relatives I am researching the family tree and found out today I am related to this man though Minnie Amelia Bellenie nee cordner and have only just been told about him by my mum. user :carlsw

Television[edit]

I just watched the episode on this subject from Cathedral (tv series) and I think the original author is a bit confused about what Walker did under the church. The series describes that the church sits on a bed of waterlogged peat which in turn sits on a bed of gravel. The peat is semipermeable to water, but the water flows freely through the gravel. In the gravel layer there is also substantial sediment which is apparently critical not to be removed.

They first tried pumping so as to remove the peat and replace it with cement, but found that they were removing too much sediment so they had to stop. Then they sent Walker down to do two things: remove the peat, and replace it with cement, both while underwater.

Once Walker did that, they could safely pump out the water without any fear of sediment removal because the cement effectively capped the gravel layer with watertight layer of cement. -- Sbwoodside 23:54, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

William Walker Wife[edit]

Hi I am also a relative to William Walker, I know him as my Great Great Grandfather. My Unlce used to meet up with one of Williams many children also called William Walker in Florida, which we have a postcard from. Today (sunday 20 July 2008) we visited the Cathedral which is of over 130 miles away.Richard Stokes
