I'm trying to find out if William Saletan is realted to the folk singer Tony Saletan, who was somewhat prominent in the 1960s and early 1970s and has been a public figure since at least the 1950s. Wikipedia has no entry for Tony; if I find out enough I may create one. In the mean time, if anyone's monitoring this page and happens to know, I think that if William is the son of an old-time publicly political person, it would be worth noting on William's page.--Dvd Avins 00:12, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Correspondance from Tony Saletan indicates they are related. I'll put it on the page Dvd Avins (talk) 23:45, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who the hell is Tony Saletan? Doesn't look notable enough to mention here. CAVincent 03:28, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

race/intelligence

[edit]

I'm not sure that Saletan's recent foray into the race/intelligence debate is notable enough to mention here, although I expect it will permenantly taint some readers' view of him. Still, if we keep it the series should probably be referenced. This is the link - http://www.slate.com/id/2178122/entry/2178123/ - and maybe someone with more intelligence than me will know how to properly cite it wiki-style. Incidently, here is Stephen Metcalf's refutation of the series, also from Slate.com - http://www.slate.com/id/2179073/ CAVincent 03:19, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is noteworthy. And yes, it will permanently taint some readers' view of him. 65.244.99.5 (talk) 19:57, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Editorializing an Encyclopedia is a little base. It goes to show you how bias is introduced into academia. Even if this man is a lunatic, him saying things in an intelligent manner should be viewed with the proper skepticism. I mean someone has to make the unpopular argument for discourse to progress, who cares if it is someone who believes the unpopular argument, diversity is good.

What is the "Christian church" is that a particular sect that I am unaware of?

Your arguement is literarly the most biased thing I've seen in this section. j/s — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.191.224.119 (talk) 05:43, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Will Saletan hatnote?

[edit]

There was a hatnote

For the folksinger, music educator and dance leader (a distant cousin) see Tony Saletan

which I've removed on the grounds that just having the same last name is not likely to land the person here, and if we hatnoted just on last name matche we'd have hatnotes in almost all bio aritticls. If there was a Will Saletan or a Bill Saletan that'd be different. Herostratus (talk) 22:40, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
