[edit]This article is similar to the other that was nominated for deletion this afternoon, and I have the same objection to the deletion nomination -- this individual's remarkable personal sacrifices and contributions to science are as notable as those of a lead guitarist in a rock band (to use the same comparison as on the other article I'm objection to deleting -- http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Stephen_Carpenter), if not -more- notable in the larger sense of contributions to society at large. If a discussion of "...range of different guitar tunings, including E, drop D, Drop Db, Drop C on the six string and G and Drop F# on the seven string" is notable, then so is a discussion of military and scientific accomplishments, particularly when those accomplishments took place in the 19th century environment of the American west. I was working on a similar article. I find his notability worthy of inclusion. I added additional references for "concerns" given to the point of almost overkill. I added info box, bio portal, WPBio, pictures, sections and some rewrite here and there.
The concerns about not enough references now seems mute. Jrcrin001 (talk) 10:19, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- Issue resolved with Bramers regarding enough references and template removed. Jrcrin001 (talk) 10:39, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
