... that William Bishop and Noël Poynter's biography of John Symcotts, sometime physician to Oliver Cromwell, provided a memorial to the sort of everyday medical practitioner who usually receives none? Poynter and Bishop...Symcotts...Cromwell was sometimes his patient.[1]
