I would find A, B, and C acceptable. I don't like D because whatever technique was used to lighten it has resulted in an appearance of ghostly fog.

I do not understand the claim that B has chromatic aberration. How can a black-and-white photo have that problem?

I am embarrassed to be complicating the discussion further at this late stage, but I found the following interesting photo in the Wiki Commons:

A: (Summoned by bot). I think the current image is the best one out of the current options we have. B and D are a bit blurry (especially D), and C appears to just be A but uncropped. Not directly opposed to E, but the depth of field blurring and the contrast on it doesn't make it my first choice. Any of the proposed images would be a fine fit if A weren't already the current picture, however, and I'd support changing it to A were that the case anyway.
