The article mentions Thomas Edison when really there is no need to. Thomas Edison and his company developed a filament for lightbulbs, not an electric lamp. Those already existed, the principle was displayed sometime before 1810. (A pair of Canadian inventors also made a filament lightbulb, but slightly different.)
