William's middle name is Dabney, not David, per his daughter Alice Lanier Hill. I have uploaded her written account to Ancestry.com. I hesitate to update this Wiki article because my evidence, while written by his daughter, is contradicting the bio on Congress.gov and may not be viewed as trustworthy by comparison.
