It says here that WC gave the first practical demonstration of refrigeration in Edinburgh in 1756, but many other sources (including wikipedia) give University of Glasgow 1948... Anyone? I am removing the word "first".... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.81.62.83 (talk) 11:36, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Major Content Changes

[edit]

I have begun a major revision of the Wikipedia page on William Cullen. I am updating the entry to reflect recent scholarship and to provide more context about Cullen's life and thought. I will update references and add citations as I go along. If anyone is curious about my interest in Cullen, I guess it's professional: I am writing my PhD thesis on his medical theory. I am a student planning to edit this Wikipedia page. I was thinking about expanding on Cullen's medical theory. Could you offer some suggestions? Thank you. --Gaukulius (talk) 02:09, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have added two major parts to this page: one part on William Cullen's medical practice and one part on his medical teachings. --Gaukulius (talk) 18:07, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions from New Wikipedia Editor

[edit]

Hello! Great article! One thing I would suggest changing would be to define the acronyms that follow immediately after William Cullen's name in the beginning of the article. Another note worthy thing about Cullen is his use of the five senses to diagnose patients. You kind of get into this when you talk about Cullen emphasizing the patient voice but you should talk about how he tasted urine and touched the patient, something that others did not do. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jpunnoo1 (talkcontribs) 03:56, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article has many huge paragraphs without citations, so I will have to quickfail it. --FunkMonk (talk) 10:17, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
