Birthdate Error

[edit]

Please fix all links referring to this article. Source from New York Times shows that he was born in 1902, not 1905. The previous article showed no source for his birthdate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CatchedY (talkcontribs) 01:49, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The birth date in the New York Times appears to be a single outlier, and is likely wrong. Most other sources give a birthdate of May 3, 1905 (e.g. Contemporary Authors (1983), Who Was Who in America (1973) and American Authors and Books (1972)) The Library of Congress lists his birth year as 1905. His age on the June 1905 New York state census, is given as less than 1. Birthdates of May 3, 1905 appear on his 1940 draft registration card and Social Security Death Index. His parents were not even married until June 1904.[1][2][3] I can't find any other printed source for a 1902 birth besides this reference book which simply indexes the New York Times obituary. --Animalparty!
