"Wilkes has the premier Education Department in Northeastern Pennsylvania Teacher Education Department." -- I am deleting this line as this is as "premier Education Department" is not objective. I have seen similar sentences appear on more than one occasion in the past. Please back this up with a reference if you feel it should be in the article.Jrmski 02:36, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Clubs
Agreed. Adding these additions back in. But these will require some cleanup. Jrmski 02:14, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
IMO most of the club list isn't really significant within the context of the rest of the article. In any case, there is not enough information on each club to warrant separate sections with headings. This needs to be condensed so that the Table of Contents is not overwhelming. Jrmski 16:48, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Other
Potentially useful additions:
proximity to several other Northeast PA Schools- Urban Studies center located in the Innovation Center
- Transitioning to an (the first?) (almost) all-macintosh computer campus
- Notable benefactor: Jay S. Sidhu
- Master plan summary
- Mentoring program
- Large commuter population
Wilkes Neologisms?
1. Are these really notable enough for an encyclopedia page? I'm still undecided myself 2. Should this be titled "Wilkes Vernacular" or "Wilkes Slang" perhaps? Neologism suggests to me that the words are used outside the campus community. Jrmski 01:31, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Two snippets that need to be replaced
I removed these because they didn't fit where they were replaced. If there is a new section that can accommodate them, they would be useful.
- "and a student-run public relations agency ("Zebra Communications")."
- "Wilkes has also recently opened "The Studio" which houses the Integrative Media Program, it contains a modern integrated digital media lab. " —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jrmski (talk • contribs) 15:01, 4 January 2007 (UTC).
To anyone editing this page
Wikipedia is first and foremost an encyclopedia. Read what WP is not here. It seems as though someone from the university or someone related to it is attempting to make it read more like a brochure or advertisement than an encyclopedic article. You need to remember to keep a neutral point of view on all topics. I realize that MANY students are basing their college choice in part on the content of WP articles. This is great as there is alot of good info located here, but we need to remember that it should just be information, not an ad. Avoid using adjectives that are unncessary to the content. I believe that the article was actually better when it was shorter, before the flowery language was used.
So please, keep Wikipedia an encyclopedia, and keep your opinions out of it. If you went to a page such as boston terrier and it said that "Bostons are the best dogs in the world", would you not question the reliability of the source? This is why we as Wikipedians are looked down upon by the outside community. A recent study has come out, which found that there is more accurate and in depth information on WP than in some print encylcopedias. Help us to keep it on track.

I have created the Wilkes University Election Statistics Project, which could use some expansion.--Blargh29 (talk) 02:30, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
