Secretary or Not?

[edit]

JackofOz deleted a portion of my original article on the basis that "there was no Department of Aboriginal Affairs during this period". Gray was certainly Secretary of the Department of Aboriginal Affairs - see his bio on page three of the cited document - it is just that I can't find any dates to go with that service as Secretary. I have added a shorter statement until I can find the dates of service. Peter phelps (talk) 11:22, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There was a Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and a DAA from 19 December 1972 [1] to 23 July 1987 [2]. On 24 July 1987, the DAA as such ceased to exist- [3]. -- JackofOz (talk) 12:47, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The current text on the article seems fine to me. I had a brief look but was unable to find anything that substantiates the date that he was actually in the job. The document cited certainly would seem to indicate that he held the position at some point. Lankiveil (speak to me) 12:44, 24 June 2008 (UTC).[reply]
He has no bio in ADB (Australia Dictionary of Biography) or at its website. Quis separabit? 17:02, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
