Merger proposal
[edit]In the recent AFD discussion, there seemed to be a consensus to merge this article. I thought I'd kick off the discussion here with a proposal.
- The Before Wikipedia section is mostly historical information and could be merged into History of wikis.
- Wikipedia, Wikimedia and MediaWiki - this section consists of short bullet point summaries which could be merged into the articles they refer to, if the information is not already in those articles.
- Wikimedia projects/websites - this section, along with the article List of Wikimedia projects, should really be merged into Wikimedia Foundation#Wikimedia projects. See also the linked discussion at Talk:Wikimedia Foundation#List_of_Wikimedia_projects.
- Websites named after Wikipedia - I would personally remove this section as it seems a bit trivia-ish, but if people think it's relevant, it could be merged into Wikipedia or perhaps List of wikis.
I'm willing to carry out the merges if there is a consensus to do so. What does anyone else think? Vl'hurg talk 13:58, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
I agree with the suggestions. The Websites named after Wikipedia section should probably go into the Wikipedia article as not all of them are wikis. What about the pronunciation section? Should it go into the Wikipedia article? Robotboy2008 (talk) 03:19, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Merge - I agree. There is nothing that justifies a separate page here. However a true disambiguation page (not a redirect to the present article) might be useful. Evren Güldoğan (talk) 22:20, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
First software ever written?
[edit]If wikiwikiweb was written in 1994, it couldn't be the first software ever written. It might be the first wiki software, but it wasn't the first software. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.53.197.12 (talk) 22:10, 14 April 2008 (UTC) ammended 206.53.197.12 (talk) 16:57, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
