Proposed Changes 2024-02-13

[edit]

Hi there. I noticed a couple outdated numbers and inconsistencies on this page. Here is one of them for you to review.

  • In the first paragraph, second sentence, I'm hoping you can change "Whitworth enrolls nearly 3,000 students" to "Whitworth enrolls approximately 2,500 students":
  • To accurately reflect the current reality:

Thank you for looking into this. I appreciate your work. Fox1890 (talk) 17:43, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question: Your link states that the university has 2,417 undergrads and 2,814 students, but in your request you seem to want to change the student count to 2,500? I'm not sure if that was a mistake or if I'm misunderstanding something. There's also been edits since that have changed it to 2,600, using https://news.whitworth.edu/2018/09/whitworth-welcomes-record-number-of_5.html which is pretty old. I've gone ahead and changed the infobox to the new numbers and referenced the Forbes link, but I'm not sure what you want to be changed in the first paragraph.
Also, when you next do an edit request, it's custom to use the "New Section" button at the top of the talk page to create a section and a title, so that it can be linked to. I added the section myself with a generic title, if that's alright.

My edit uses the Fall 2022 IPEDS numbers from the Dept. of Education. glman (talk) 14:04, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, @Jabster28. I had an older version of the page (marked with potential edits) saved and that's where I got the "3,000". I'm sorry for that confusion. As far as the "2,500" I was using that as a rough average, but I appreciate you putting in the exact numbers listed in the link. Also, thank you for the tip; next time, I will create a new section.
Cheers! ~~~~ Fox1890 (talk) 16:41, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Under "Rankings", I'd be interested to see the following updates: 1) In the first line, change "2022" to "2023"; "#1 in Best Value (West)" to "#3 in Best Value (West)"; "#3 Best Regional University (West)" to "#7 Best Regional University (West)"; and "#2 Best Colleges for Veterans (West)" to "#5 Best Colleges for Veterans (West)" 2) In the second line, change "Princeton Review also named Whitworth 'Best in the West' on the 2022 Best Colleges list" to "Princeton Review named Whitworth one of the 79 "Best in the West" college universities on the 2024 Best Colleges list." 3) At the end of the first paragraph, add "In 2023, Washington Monthly named Whitworth one of the top 35 master's universities in the nation."
  • Each of these edits is to reflect the current reality reflected in the following links:

@Jabster28, do you have any suggestions for how I might find someone who would take a look at my proposed changes, above? ~~~~ Fox1890 (talk) 15:23, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:UNIGUIDE, your wording is not NPOV. However, I will update with the new linked rankings today. glman (talk) 16:22, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Also, thank you for that link and the reminder to use a neutral point of view throughout. ~~~~ Fox1890 (talk) 16:31, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suggesting updates

[edit]

Dear editors, some changes have been made to this page to reflect the new 2024 reality with updated statistics and rankings, but there are a few more items that have become out of date. 1) Updated admissions numbers have been posted, above, under "Proposed Changes, 2024.3.27," and 2) the Boppell Track resurfacing is not yet mentioned anywhere on the page. More information and references can be provided on the new state-of-the-art track should consensus be reached that mentioning it is beneficial to the page viewers' experience. Thank you for your ongoing work. ~~~~ Fox1890 (talk) 16:02, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide reliable third-party sources on the "Boppell Track". glman (talk) 17:34, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
