[edit]Where should it be said that Whiskeytown is (was?) also a townin California?
Members
[edit]The members list is currently inaccurate. While there's been talk of a reunion, there are no current members officially, and in fact, the only members to remain constant during the band's entire run are Adams and Cary. There's not a touring band along the lines of Credence Clearwater Revisited here. This needs to be reworked. Stick Fig 16:21, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
I cleaned it up some, but I'm finding it hard to match dates to members besides Adams and Cary. I can match timeframes, but those aren't clear. If anyone can help, I'd be much appreciative. Stick Fig 16:44, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
Lost Highway Records link
[edit]Take a look at what's actually at the Lost Highway Records link. A brief "Biography" paragraph that contains no biographical information, and links to buy the band's products. Compare to Wikipedia:External_links. If this is not a site "that primarily exist to sell products or services," I don't know what is. And it clearly "does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article here would have once it becomes a Wikipedia:Featured article." --Stellmach 13:32, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- By nature of its including of multiple audio samples longer than 30 seconds, which this page currently doesn't have nor ever will due to copyright concerns, it does. - Stick Fig 13:50, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Good point. I hadn't accounted for the audio samples, and the new text of the link makes it clear that that's what the link provides. My God, an amicable agreement! How refreshing. -Stellmach 14:19, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Indie Status
[edit]While "indie" is a fairly ambiguous term, and thus subject to interpretation, I think it is better to err on the side of caution. As Bloodshot records is a member of the RIAA, and RIAA-membership is one of the classical benchmarks of "indie-ness", I feel the modifier of "indie label" before "Bloodshot Records" should be removed. Shardik 02:48, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- There is a history with that particular page of the RIAA putting non-member labels, such as Vagrant Records, on there as members. For that reason, I wouldn't trust it. - Stick Fig 18:07, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- I just recieved an email from Boodshot that they were erroneously listed as a member of the RIAA. Shardik 21:37, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- I just did a search on RIAA Radar, linked from the Independent Records article, for "Ryan Adams Heartbreaker," and it came back marked "safe" and non-RIAA affiliated. I think that's enough proof to say that we can keep the phrase in. - Stick Fig 18:47, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- Do you mean that a lack of RIAA membership is one of the classical benckmarks of "indie-ness"? (Independence?) 24.147.169.135 02:43, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
