Someone from Wheaton's PR department made this page...(a skeptical Wheaton Alum)

And I thought the MIT article was bad! I found this article by Rbellin and Dpbsmith's discussion of academic boosterism, available here. Although the database server is irritatingly slow today, I've begun a POV-ectomy.
One of the problems with articles on colleges is that the students, who have many legitimate reasons to loathe their habitat, never get the chance to put their complaints in nice four-color brochures. Anville 14:26, 22 May 2005 (UTC)

This was deffinetly written by the Wheaton PR department: Another very skeptical Alum. This artical borders on outright fraud. May 25/05

  • I added a section on the Honor Code, because of its importance to the community. It's an important part of Wheaton life, and it is something that should be mentioned, particularly the focus upon preventing plagiarism. And the HC decisions were through faculty and student support and collaboration.

That being said, I also believe that the piece sounds like it was written by the college. The History section, the curriculum, the lack of mentioning the Honor Code because it freaks people out, it seems too much like the college itself. I love the school, but I'm not going to kiss its butt. If I had more time, I'd edit more of it, but I hope some people would take up the task to edit the page, and make my section on the Honor Code stronger. Of course, I'd also like a WCCS page, but we can all dream :) Jlove1982 04:27, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:WheatonCollege.gif

Image:WheatonCollege.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

pictures?

Are this and this picture from (this) Wheaton? I'm not 100% sure, else I'll upload one of them to the Commons to use them in this article. Thanks, Ibn Battuta (talk) 18:13, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

The Ann Curry 2010 graduation speech snafu is not mentioned. It should be noted because it illustrates the significance of the disambiguation of the name, but I don't do footnotes. May 31, 2010

Lucy Larcom's name should be linked to her wiki page (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Lucy_Larcom), however I have no idea how to do that, so I'll leave it to the skills of anyone who does Irish Melkite (talk) 22:48, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
