notability
[edit]Whatcom Chief could not find anything that makes this ferry notable to be included here. Please comment. regards--DBigXray 13:47, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- after your reply i looked at the history this was started in March-April 2012 so the policies were still the same when you had started--DBigXray 15:17, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- The individual who tagged this article for notability has left the project. They nominated another article about another vessel for deletion, based on the same assertions of lack of notability, and withdrew that nomination when there was overwhelming disagreement. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ongiara (ship, 1885). So I removed this tag. Geo Swan (talk) 00:56, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
- I suggest you focus your activities on the problem at hand i.e. proving the notability of this article, rather then blaming fellow editors. I have restored the tag and expect you will resolve the problems in articles before removing tags. --DBigXray 14:04, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
- The individual who tagged this article also tagged Ongiara (ship, 1885), at essentially the same time, and subsequently nominated it for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ongiara (ship, 1885) -- for essentially the same reasons they tagged this article. In the face of overwhelming opposition they withdrew that nomination, writing "Keep Withdrawing nomination as consensus seems to be that it passes GNG". I think the onus is on the tagger to reconcile their tag with their later acknowledgement that they misjudged what makes a maritime vessel notable. Geo Swan (talk) 13:35, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
- After waiting a week, and seeing no reply, I am trimming the tag, as per the explanation offered above. Geo Swan (talk) 15:38, 16 July 2014 (UTC)
