Egk's Nazi career
[edit]Please someone take a look at the German wiki article on Egk. I'm not into it but Egk was anything else than a Mitläufer. Rather, he was an honoured member of the Nazi establishment. In fact he even took part in a contest to replace Mendelssohn's music for A Midsummer Night's Dream and was a prolific inventor of Aryan-type pseudo-culture. That ridiculous passages "that work was a necessity for Egk to save and continue his work" needs re-thinking. --Sleepingbeauty1 (talk) 19:52, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
- The English WP text seems better now.
- But German WP still lists the words to "Marsch der deutschen Jugend" ("March of German Youth") which are the sort of thing to inspire a good Nazi, with its reference to Greater Germany and its use of Flag, which is quite probably evocative of the Horst Wessel Song.
