• a)^ For the purposes of WP:NEXIST, Sri Lankan cricket sources are mostly written in the Sinhalese language and, as such, present a real difficulty of access for editors in English-speaking countries. The case of Suresh Perera (Old Cambrians cricketer) provides a precedent as a contact in Sri Lanka was willing to check a highly reputable Sinhalese newspaper, Dinamina, for a specific match report and found additional information about that player (including his first name, his age and his occupation) which, post-translation, could be included in the article and cited as appended here.[1]Dinamina is one of many Sinhalese sources providing expansive coverage of cricket, which is the most popular sport in Sri Lanka. Therefore, as such sources unquestionably exist, they satisfy the terms of WP:NEXIST.
Per the handling of an identical footnote at Talk:I. Kudigame, the above footnote was an attempt at justifying why this article meets inclusion guidelines, rather than imparting information to readers of the encyclopedia. I've therefore moved it to the talk page. ReykYO!07:00, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
