  • Oppose move - at least for now. I am not at all sure that the current title (the one-word "Weltevredenpark") actually is "incorrect". Quite a few reliable sources present it as one word (in addition to the cited census report, we have: Google Maps and Accuweather. However, a lot of other reliable sources do present it as two words. Could the distinction be between Afrikaans and standard English? Blueboar (talk) 16:06, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support As a citizen of the area for many years, I have always used the words separately without any problems. I believe that the concatenation of the two words is due to administrative computers in the past not being able to handle a space between the two words and hence in some contexts you will still find the area's name concatenated. A local primary school (Weltevreden Park Primary School) makes the distinction quite clear on their homepage (http://www.welties.org.za/). There is not a translation problem as I can speak English and Afrikaans and in Afrikaans I believe that the words would still be separated regardless. I will see if I can find local municipal signpost somewhere and take a picture of it when I get a chance. Mattsan22 (talk) 17:12, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying that this isn't an Afrikaans vs English issue. I am not yet ready to change my opinion... we still have the problem that (for whatever reason) multiple reliable sources (ones that normally get names right) continue to use the one word "Weltevredenpark" variant. At a minimum, this usage means that the one-word variant should be considered an accepted "alternative" name. I think we need to examine how the name is presented in more sources... especially "high end" sources. Blueboar (talk) 17:49, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
