Redirect to Wyrd?

[edit]

I notice that Weird redirects to Wyrd. Not exactly what I was expecting. Is there nothing more appropriate? Ewlyahoocom 16:55, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is quite stupid, I don't have the capacity to fix this right now, but Weird and Wyrd are quite different things, and there should be a relatively simple explanation of what weird means, on this page. This needs a look at, I think. I guess you could say it's weird, haha. Nintenmo 10:52, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I did a bit of a check, turns out they don't do the same thing for 'strange' and similar words, so i guess it could stay. Nintenmo 10:54, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

since we don't do dictionary definitions, we should point to wiktionary. But I agree that redirecting to Wyrd is unintuitive, this should be a disambiguation page. dab (𒁳) 08:40, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

HIIIIIIIIII. Wyrd sounds weird.

Why the removal of the links in the "weird number" passage? I doubt many wiki readers are familiar with these terms (I sure wasn't before reading the article) so why not have hyperlinks to the more obscure terms? Alvis 04:49, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation_pages)#Individual entries: "Keep in mind that the primary purpose of the disambiguation page is to help people find the information they want quickly and easily. These pages are not for exploration, but only to help the user navigate to a specific article... Each bulleted entry should, in almost every case, have exactly one navigable (blue) link. Including more than one link can confuse the reader; ..." For more information on why this should be, please refer to the rest of that style guide and it's talk page. Pending changes

[edit]

This article is one of a number selected for the early stage of the trial of the Wikipedia:Pending Changes system on the English language Wikipedia. All the articles listed at Wikipedia:Pending changes/Queue are being considered for level 1 pending changes protection.

The following request appears on that page:

Comments on the suitability of theis page for "Pending changes" would be appreciated.

Please update the Queue page as appropriate.

Note that I am not involved in this project any much more than any other editor, just posting these notes since it is quite a big change, potentially

First entry seems like a dicdef

[edit]

The first entry here seems like a dictionary definition that should more appropriately be in Wiktionary. Aliajacta (talk) 22:54, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Cannolis (talk) 01:57, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
