Correcting and adding new WUMC information - institutions, WUMCRC, Cortex

[edit]
  • What I think should be changed (include citations):

Update name -- it changed from Medical Center to Medical Campus in 2017[1]; Correct list of institutions (provide full names; correct names that have changed; add missing)[2]; Move information about WUMCRC to history section, and update WUMCRC info with new and more complete details about neighborhoods served and current leadership [3]; Add information about adjacent Cortex district[4]; Provide additional/updated links, citations throughout

  • Why it should be changed:

The name of the campus changed; Some information is out of date or incorrect; WUMCRC is a separate (though related) entity; Some citations are 10+ years old and newer information is available

References

Already done I assume you're referring to the changes you made in Special:Diff/1228741872. For future reference, you should open the edit request first and specify exactly what you want changed, and only make the change once an uninvolved editor has okayed it.

I noticed the last two paragraphs you added to the history section don't have any sources. Could you please add citations there? Thanks! Rusalkii (talk) 00:51, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the help! I didn't receive notification of your reply; I'm sorry to have left it unanswered for so long.
Citations for the new paragraph under History (since removed) that @Rusalkii referenced above:
In 2002, development of the Cortex Innovation Community began directly east of the Washington University Medical Campus. A hub for technology and biological science research, development, and commercialization, Cortex was founded by WUMC partners Washington University and BJC HealthCare, as well as University of Missouri–St. Louis, Saint Louis University, and the Missouri Botanical Garden.[A, B]

The paragraph after that (also removed) was within the article prior to my edits. I made minor corrections to that content (Kingshighway Boulevard, not Avenue; noted bus lines in addition to MetroLink). I'm adding one more correction here, in brackets, to include the Cortex station. Citations below:
WUMC is accessible from Kingshighway Boulevard at I-64/US 40, the Central West End [and Cortex stations] of the St. Louis MetroLink, and several St. Louis MetroBus stops. Regular transportation is provided by rail and bus between WUMC and the other campuses of Washington University.[A,B]
