Native food source

[edit]

This is one of the major food words in the Chinook Jargon and no doubt in other languages in the Pacific Northest. There are only certain varieties of sagittaria involved, and there are cooking methods and culture issues surrounding it, as also with camas; Would Wapato (native food source) work as a title (or "indigenous" instead of "native"); at least for a stub, I'm not educated enough in ethnobotany to write it. I put the WikiProject template on here in the hopes of atrtacing Native American or First Nations editors, or others knowledgeable; there is no Wikipedia:WikiProject Ethnobotany is there? I can't put Category:Native American cuisine or Category:Native American culture or Category:Pacific Northwest on here as long as it's a disambiguation. If there's only teh two dabs, maybe a split is the way to go, with a dab line connecting the two, adn this the culture/food article.Skookum1 (talk) 04:51, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
