Updating Article
[edit]I found this stub on a list from the suggestion bot. I have done extensive research today and am beginning the rewrite process. I expect to complete the article within 3 days. Mollifiednow (talk) 23:55, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
One more section (personal) to add and I should be finished. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to comment! :) Mollifiednow (talk) 01:36, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
Well, this is difficult. Do I add anything about his children? I'm thinking, he and his children might prefer to keep that information private.
I'm not going to. Information is available in the citations and I will leave it to the reader to read it there. Mollifiednow (talk) 15:16, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
I've caused an error in the reference section =-O Mollifiednow (talk) 17:46, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks User:Animalparty for the keen eye. I appreciate your help! :) Mollifiednow (talk) 00:18, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
Expanded Article: Walter Mears
[edit]This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
I have been working to expand/complete this article. It was included on a list of suggestions from the suggestion bot. I'm new and not sure of the process.
After I finish, is there a process for review?
If so, can you point me in the right direction?
I did create one article (James Ewing) and it's been submitted for review, but at this point in my short time here, I'm still not sure that my work is "correct" and meets the Wikipedia standards. I just want to be sure I'm not making more work that others would have to spend time fixing. There's so much to do here! I love this :)
Also, is this the type of question better suited to ask on the Teahouse? (Trying not to be a burden on the help desk either)
Thanks for your help- Mollifiednow (talk) 01:34, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Mollifiednow: you've expanded the prose fivefold within the last week, so the easiest way is to nominate this to appear on the front page in the
Did you knowDid you know section. Since this is a BLP (biography of a living person), the reviewer will check that it meets those requirements. Hope that helped, Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 01:58, 2 September 2020 (UTC)- Note: struck out old link, replaced with one that should work better. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 03:51, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the information. I'm adding one last section, tomorrow and I will give it a go. Appreciate your help! :) Mollifiednow (talk) 02:32, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
May I ask for your help in doing ? for a different article that I expanded on, (Russell Carollo)? I'm so confused. I followed your link to the Did you know page. I entered the title and clicked the blue button, but the page that opened had no template to fill in (not that I'm sure of how to do that). I tried twice. Hopefully, I didn't cause confusion to the nomination crew, ugh =-O I don't have a clue at this point of what happened. If I could get help nominating the Russell Carollo article, it would help, as a guide when I nominate the article that I'm currently working on. If you're not interested, I understand. I hope you're not offended that I asked for help, I will not be offended if you can't. Thanks Mollifiednow (talk) 03:14, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
Oh my. I may have been premature in asking for more help. I found my nomination on the September 1 page, in the holding area :) Still not sure if I messaged them correctly, but if not, I assume that they will let me know (?) Sorry for the blizzard of responses to your suggestion. It's late and I'm tired and a little hyperactive at the same time. Mollifiednow (talk) 03:26, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

- Are you sure? Although DYK may not have been your intention, at a quick glance, it appears to be eligible. And in the process, the article will be reviewed. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 00:31, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
Ok. I'll give it a go...Deleted my withdrawal. Thanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mollifiednow (talk • contribs) 00:53, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
- This article is a five-fold expansion and is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are cited inline and any of the hooks could be used, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. This seems to be Mollifiednow's first DYK, so no QPQ is needed. (I find the first paragraph in the "Personal" section confusing as the two sentences are not in chronological order and seem to contradict one another.) Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:45, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. Apologies for the confusion, I have corrected the typo under Personal, 2011 was changed to 2001. Mollifiednow (talk) 13:37, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote the ALT0 hook. I think it would be helpful to add some description of Long to the hook and article for readers who don't know who he is. Please also add cites to the two "citation needed" sentences. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 21:33, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

- @Rotideypoc41352: I think Mears is comparing Trump to Huey Long because the latter was a populist politician, not because he ran for president. I suggest:

- If nom (the nominator) has no objections to Yoninah's suggestion, we can proceed with the review. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 14:58, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Rotideypoc41352: Sorry, I got mixed up reading the thread in the edit window and thought you were the nominator. Yes, if the nominator is okay with this, I'll promote it. Yoninah (talk) 15:02, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
