Notability
Does not meet WP:SOLDIER & sig RS coverage not found link, just passing mentions. The article copy is uncited; such level of detail unlikely to exist in secondary RS.
No de.wiki article exists. Did not hold a significant command and topped out as Captain. Successful completion of missions (sorties flown, # of enemy aircraft shot down, etc) is not part of SOLDIER. Please also see a note at MilHist Talk Archives for background behind the redirect. In summary, per the outcome of the discussion at Notability:People on notability of Knight's Cross recipients: permalink, certain recipients were deemed non notable and WP:SOLDIER has been modified accordingly: diff. The articles of these recipients are being redirected to alphabetical lists. K.e.coffman (talk) 03:32, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
- Also came up on my list and I was going to comment here. There's a general trend of creating article for Iron Cross holders which is not particularly impressive, particularly considering many were Nazi war criminals... PS. User:K.e.coffman please ping me if this is at AfD, and please consider pinging me if you see any similar bio at AfD, I'd be happy to review such cases. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 13:35, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Piotrus: You can add Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/German military history task force/Article alerts to your watch list, to monitor for AfDs, RfCs, etc. You could also nominate this or similar articles for deletion yourself. --K.e.coffman (talk) 02:55, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- There are several mentions of Walter Adolph in Google Books. I also thought he was more notable because he was a pilot in the Spanish Civil War as well. He has 25 air victories which is more than any American flying ace, of which there are 165 articles: Category:American World War II flying aces. --Pudeo (talk) 06:28, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- The SOLDIER argument is irrelevant, he meets GNG. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:01, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
