Zoned schools

[edit]

Often I see sections where a section lists all of the schools in a given school district in a city's education section, even if the schools don't actually cover parts of the city and/or are far, far, far away from the city. I tried to re-focus the section on schools that are known to actually take residents of the City of Waller (as in within the city limits specifically). However I can't find a city zoning map for Waller, so I cant tell exactly which sections are zoned residential or not (obviously empty land and/or industrial/commercial land won't have students). This means it's hard to tell whether schools with outerlying parts of Waller city's territory are actually getting students or not.

To keep this compliant w the OR policy, I only included, but also without saying/implying they are the only zoned schools:

  • The schools in the Waller city limits (I. T. Holleman Elementary School and Waller Junior High School)
  • Waller High School (it's still the only high school in the district and automatically takes everything in the boundary!)
  • I found Jones Elementary School (in Prairie View) covers an apartment complex in the central core of Waller see Waller ETJ/city map and see Waller ISD ES map for 2024-2025. I did not write that in the article, but instead simply "The boundary of Jones Elementary School in Prairie View extends into the Waller townsite" (something supportable from the document)

That way, I'm trying to follow the OR policy but also not have a list irrelevant to Waller City.

In any event, it is possible additional development and/or annexation of land, plus development of new schools and/or rezoning (which can be done by the district any July 1 or, if schools open in the middle of a school year, during those times!), will render much of or all of the above moot. I realize I could mention other schools by considering the extraterritorial jurisdiction, which extends out of Waller. WhisperToMe (talk) 16:02, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
