clarification on cribellum vs. calamistrum

[edit]

The article says "They possess an organ called a cribellum, which is a kind of comb-like device used to separate fibers of silk drawn from its spinnerets into many extremely fine fibers". Isn't this a misleading description of the cribellum? Isn't it, in fact, a description of the calamistrum? -Jared Beck 2010.10.07 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaredbeck (talkcontribs) 03:19, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

too general

[edit]

the statements in this article are of a generality bordering on the useless. the lemma could also aptly be named "web spider". any specialists out there? -- Kku 12:36, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
