Oak leaves recipient

[edit]

The Paragraph about his death: " At the time of his death on 13 Januar 2014 in Göttingen at the age of 96, Gazen was the last living Oakleaves recipient of the Wehrmacht Heer and one of two still living Oakleaves recipient of the Wehrmacht, the other being Erich Rudorffer." is definitely wrong, e.g. Otto Carius also received the "Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves" and did serve in the "Heer". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.33.18.5 (talk) 14:44, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As this comment is backed up by the Otto Carius article, I have removed the offending sentence. Thank you for pointing it out. Periglio (talk) 20:49, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Mea culpa, the statement was intended to be "last living Oakleaves and Swords recipient" (see List of living Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross recipients#Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords (1 of 160)), however a solid (i. e. not indirect) reference is hard to be found, as an academic work on the subject, in light of the recent deaths of many Knight's cross recipients, is yet to be published. --Jake V (talk) 19:21, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

Does not meet WP:SOLDIER & sig RS coverage not found: link. Williamson is non RS for the purpose of establishing notability. The subject's WWII career is cited to lexicon-der-wehrmacht web site, which is not suitable.

No de.wiki article. Please also see a note at MilHist Talk Archives for background behind the redirect. In summary, per the outcome of the discussion at Notability:People on notability of Knight's Cross recipients: permalink, certain recipients were deemed non notable and WP:SOLDIER has been modified accordingly: diff. The articles of these recipients are being redirected to alphabetical lists. K.e.coffman (talk) 05:06, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No reliable sources have yet been presented; I tagged the article accordingly. K.e.coffman (talk) 22:29, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Unreliable sources tag

[edit]

Lexikon der Wehrmacht web site is not a reliable source. I tagged the article accordingly. K.e.coffman (talk) 22:29, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notability, take 2

[edit]

Insufficient reliable sources link, just passing mentions and / or non RS. I redirected this article to an alphabetical list. K.e.coffman (talk) 02:53, 11 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
