Re: irredentism and historical revisionism

[edit]

User:GizzyCatBella removed referenced text after vaguely alluding to Wikipedia's BLP policy. The text is properly referenced. If a Polish (or a Russian) former general goes claiming random territories for their country in mainstream media, that is their free choice, and there is no reason why Wikipedia should shut up about it. Skrzypczak's comments have travelled very widely in Russian and eastern European media.--213.222.183.137 (talk) 18:58, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Update: User:GizzyCatBella messaged me twice in private threatening to "report me". They are more than welcome to do so.--213.222.183.137 (talk) 19:03, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This [1] violates WP:BLP. - GizzyCatBella🍁 19:03, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No it does not - Skrzypczak said it himself on Polish TV. 213.222.183.137 (talk) 19:05, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
User:ToBeFree: Hello, which facets of Wikipedia’s BLP policy my referenced contribution to this article allegedly violated? Why did you choose to lock the article for 3 months (a bit long, no)? The discretionary actions I’ve seen only extend to 1-2 weeks even for much more heated and notable topics than this one. Finally, why the entire referenced material was removed even if you felt that calling it historical revisionism and irredentism was original research? I’m surprised there was no discussion here…could it be an indication of your bias on the topic?--213.222.183.137 (talk) 20:23, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have answered your concerns in Special:Diff/1079826269 now. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:33, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, responded there. 213.222.183.137 (talk) 20:43, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@IP 213...137 - You have to understand that even if the subject articulated (whatever he said) this is not what this individual is notable for. People say many different things, but you can not cherry-pick one statement referencing some newspaper from Russia (is it Russian?) and label BLP’s the way you did here --> [2] This is a big no-no for the BLP article. - GizzyCatBella🍁 20:47, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I reworded “notable for” long before this article was shut down for editing (see edit history).
The source, Novinite, has its own Wikipedia article and is considered credible. I am sure there are many more sources in a variety of languages.
I noticed you removed an older reference to the general’s heavy-metal affiliation, which would point to his possible right-wing sentiment. Why did you do so? 213.222.183.137 (talk) 20:51, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
