Mistaken identity (conflation) and redirect?

[edit]

I just came to this article from the bluelink on List of lynching victims in the United States, where "Thomas, Wade" is listed as an African-American man from Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, lynched in 1920 (taken from jail by a mob, hung, then riddled with bullets), ref = "Negro Is Lynched by Arkansas Mob". Ellensburg Daily Record. December 27, 1920. However, the "Wade Thomas" article had been redirected to Thomas Wade (writer), died 1875, a completely different person. Could we de-conflate the 20th century American lynching victim from the 19th century English writer? – Raven  .talk 15:25, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
