  • Well-written

a. the prose is clear and concise, it respects copyright laws, and the spelling and grammar are correct

b. It complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation

Here is a list of sentence or grammar errors I found.
1. "was a pair of two avisos built by the Imperial German Navy" - To be sure the reader understands completely, considered chaning this sentence to "was a pair of two aviso ships built by the Imperial German Navy".
There's a link for clarification, "aviso ships" is just wrong.
2. "Both ships served in the main German fleet for the entirety of their active duty careers" - The "active duty careers" part should be reformulated as it sounds very wrong.
It's fine as it is - one can also have a career while in reserve status.
3. "Wacht and Jagd had a crew of 7 officers and 134 enlisted men" - Did Wacht and Jagd had a combined crew of seven officers and 134 men or did each aviso had a crew of seven officiers and 134 men? This needs to be clarified. Also "7" should be written in words because it's between 1-9 per WP:NUMERAL.
Clarified, but one should not mix words and figures in the same sentence when dealing with the same category of items.
4. "In 1891–1893" - This sentence should be changed to "In 1891-93" per WP:DATERANGE.
Good catch.
5. "new boilers manufactured by Schichau-Werke and the Kaiserliche Werft (Imperial Shipyard)" - If you have a paragraph translation of Kaiserliche Werft you might as well have one of Schichau-Werke.
Schichau-Werke is the name of the company (owned by Ferdinand Schichau), while Kaiserliche Werft is not, which is why the latter is translated and the former is not.
6. "in the Mediterranean Sea in 1889–1890" - WP:DATERANGE.
Fixed.
7. "alternating between the I and II Divisions" - I would recommend changing this sentence to "alternating between the 1st and 2nd Divisions".
German naval units are routinely expressed with Roman rather than Arabic numerals.
  • Verifiable with no original research

a. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline

b. It provides in-line citations from reliable sources for direct quotations, statistics, published opinion, counter-intuitive or controversial statements that are challenged or likely to be challenged, and contentious material relating to living persons—science-based articles should follow the scientific citation guidelines

c. It contains no original research

The article used books sources which all contain the required text information in accordance with the layout style guideline.
  • Broad in its coverage

a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic

b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail

The article addresses the main topics of the subjects in question and does not go into unnecessary detail.
  • Neutral

It represents viewpoints fairly and without bias, giving due weight to each

The article is neutral with no personal opinions or statements.
  • Stable

It does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute

The article is very stable with no edit wars or content disputes.
  • Illustrated

a. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid fair use rationales are provided for non-free content

b. Images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions

The article has one image in the infobox which is a public domain that shows Jagd in 1904.
  • Pass, fail, or hold?
With the article meeting the GA-criteria I'm of course going to pass it. Good job. Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 14:44, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
