Weak Signal
[edit]Something should be said about XYT's weak signal. As the self-proclaimed "sports station" and home to Detroit Tiger, Detroit Red Wing and Detroit Lion radio broadcasts, XYT should have a strong enough signal to reach metro Detroit sports fans, even as the Detroit metro area has grown to include the once far-flung areas of northern Macomb and Oakland counties. Instead, fans are left to suffer with a static-filled signal from a second-rate station.
Merge
[edit]I think WXYZ-AM should be merged into this article, since it pretty much has the same info. CoolKatt number 99999 03:42, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- You oughtta do it. WXYZ/WXTZ is the same station with different call letters. I would only suggest separate articles if WXYZ had moved elsewhere on the dial, such as WSCR/Chicago. This didn't happen; the station was simply renamed. Goeverywhere 00:01, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]I have requested that this page be moved to WXYT, as that is the FCC-assigned callsign. Could someone move this please? CoolKatt number 99999 01:00, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
Deny move
[edit]Why is this conflicting with your imaginary mergers??? This was a legendary radio entity with significant impact on the broadcast industry. Allow this article to be contributed to. Its only a couple months old.
Personalities

Vernon C.Kielpinski at vkielpinski@yahoo.com and the sports area:
[edit]I have alot to say about our sports town.First and foremost. Now that the New Orlean Saints have not only been to the superbowl they have actually won it.What does that do for the Detroit Pusseycats or Lions.Nothing except that the Lions suck. They have done nothing to improve their team. The year they went to the playoffs when Wayne Footes was coach all they did run and run the ball. They had no balanced atttack. And this has been a continuing theme of the Detroit Lions. If they are good at one area they don't try to improve other areas. The Lions will always suck until they get smart about how the game ios played.Look at how many of the successful teams have been.It has basicly about a balanced attack and balanced team. Now about the Detroit Tigers. They need to take notes on how other teams improve whilst the Tigers do not.The hated New York Yankees never ever rest. They are always busy trying to improve their team. They go out and buy it.The Tigers in the end show promise but get nothing for it.Take notes from the teams that win.As for the Detroit Red Wings:They need to rebuild within.Look at how San Jose and Anahiem are.Forget how the Ducks are now. They build their teams one size and speed.AND they manage to get good goalies.Next season or at least during the off season they rreally need to explore a new way to product their team. They are old and need to be replaced. As for the Detroit Pistons they just suck.Joe Dumars may have been a good player but as a G.M. he sucks. It is alot different from being a superstar player and being a man in charge of the team.He needs to get smart about it.As for Cleveland and James:James ego is what gets in the way of the Cleveland team from achiving it's biggest prize. This is vkielpinski@yahoo.com and Vernon C.Kielpinski.
