"Trimming" sources

[edit]

@Neutralhomer: Saw your revert, wanted to bring it here to discuss. Yes, I removed one source during my cleanup, but it was for an unnecessarily promotional section (the list of awards under "Products"). The source didn't apply to any other part of the article, just the award. Even before removing that source, I feel like the article needed additional sources, thus the template. As far as I can tell that should satisfy the concern you raised in your revert message, but if it doesn't, could you please elaborate on what else you don't like about my change? creffett (talk) 14:04, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Creffett: If you felt it needed more sources prior to removing the two sources, than OK, no problem. I personally disagree with the removal of any sourced content.
A radio station's "product" is their over-the-air content and when that content wins an award, that "product" and award is worth noting. Plus, when a station from West Virginia wins multiple Marconi awards (the equivalent of the Oscars in radio) that's BIG. - NeutralhomerTalk • 14:12 on June 3, 2019 (UTC)
All right, I see your point (and didn't know about the Marconi awards - you learn something every day here!). I'm going to leave it as-is for now; I'll redo my cleanup tonight, try to add a couple of sources so that I don't need to re-tag it as poorly sourced, and move the awards to a more neutrally-worded "awards" section. creffett (talk) 14:22, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Creffett: Sorry for the very slow reply. I work night shift and I just finished making a slew a phone calls and now finished up some emails and Wikipedia. :)
Anywho....Thanks, I do appreciate that. I will help as I can. Just let me know what you might need assistance on. - NeutralhomerTalk • 15:05 on June 4, 2019 (UTC)
Sure, no problem. Clearly I didn't get to it last night, I hope to get to it soon. Will give you a shout if I need anything, much appreciated. creffett (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 00:51, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
