Bad "notable alumni" links
[edit]Many of the Wikilinks for "notable alumni" of WCPO are not valid, including Todd Hunter (announcer and weatherman) links to a composer, and Jack Moran - currently links to British footballer —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.101.136.61 (talk) 06:24, 8 October 2009 (UTC) indeed these two people were at channel nine for many years. my dad paul adams was chief from 53 until 1968. bill dawes, was another part time tv announcer who also worked radio wcpo am, until it was sold in 1964. stanley adams. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stanleybadams (talk • contribs) 00:26, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material
[edit]Hello, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees in this article. Not including this type of material in articles abides by current consensus and is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:
- WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
- As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
- WP:NLIST tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
- Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.
If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). thanks Deconstructhis (talk) 15:19, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Court TV
[edit]According to WCPO.com, https://www.wcpo.com/entertainment/court-tv-is-back-on-air-wednesday-has-live-coverage-of-trials-across-the-u-s (Box on the right of the article text) Court TV is on 9.2. Escape is moving to 9.4. This is also confirmed on the Chyron on 9.2 Escape, airing live. It's also confirmed by staff at WCPO on Twitter at this thread https://twitter.com/EvanMillward/status/1125868282144350208. I did the changes but an anonymous user changed it. - As well as the links in the previous comment above, I just visually confirmed the changed of the move of the subchannels.P37307 (talk) 21:11, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
WSTR
[edit]WCPO hosting WSTR from their frequency & towers due to ATSC 3.0 is not the same as being an affiliates. Just because signals for WKRC and WSTR broadcasts 1.0 stream were relocated on a different frequency that uses WCPO's frequencies and towers to allow broadcasting NEXTGEN (ATSC 3.0) television does not mean affiliations have changed. Affiliation of networks have nothing to due with the infrastructure they are broadcasting from. P37307 (talk) 02:19, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
I do think it does deserve a mention in the article though that they are sharing 1.0 freq during the 3.0 transition. Would be a good to mention it somewhere in all three pages. WKRC has a news article about the changes, as there are others until "Atsc 3.0 Cincinnati" Google searches. P37307 (talk) 02:41, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
David Rose
[edit]I removed via this edit the blurb about David Rose under WP:Not. Also, citation doesn't say he was fired let alone for the implied reason. It says they weren't able to reach an agreement with David Rose on his contract renewal. Contract ending is not same as being fired. --P37307 (talk) 06:06, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
