Croatian Vojnomir/Voynomir and Voynomir the Slav

Please note that duke Vojnomir from Slavonia is a very uncertain personality, too. It may well be true that they are the same person, but we do not know that for sure. Because of this gray area we can not join both articles together. Centuries later one duke Vojnomir was really mentioned by Chronicle of the Priest of Dioclea (12th century) as the third known ruler of Slavonia, so the page of croatian ruler is justified. But an old frankish source does not mention who is commander Wonomirus (he could be istrian, carniolian or even friulian Slav)- so this is a problem of ballancing the article of croatian Vojnomir, not of this article. -- Bostjan46 (talk) 15:48, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merging

There is no proof for that. They may be the same person, but they may be different persons. The page of Vojnomir is the page of croatin ruler and this page here is just a page about Wonomyrus Sclavus from Annales Regni Francorum. However- you can merge these two articles (but the question is: how to merge them and how to preserve objectiveness?) -Bostjan46 (talk) 18:55, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We may not merge this two persons under Voynomir of Pannonian Croatia, because- Wonomyrus Sclavus could be Friulian Slav, Carniolian Slav for example... or even a Carantanian Slav. The name of Voynomir of pannonian Croatia is missleading, because it presuppose croatian origin and also- societal rank of duke. On the other side: late Chronicle of the Priest of Dioclea (12th century)really mentioned one Voynomir as the third known ruler of Slavonia (obviously identified with the Wonomyrus Sclavus). And at last: croat readers could be insulted by the deletion of article of their (mythological?) duke. Please- be objective. When we discuss about an apple and a pear, they are both fruits of the tree, but they are not the same. It does not matter that article about apple was written in the year 200* and the article about the fruit X, which can be an apple or a pear (but we have no information about that) in the year 201*. How can we merge these two articles? There is no certain proof that Voynomir the Slav is croatian Vojnomir. on the other side- hypotethical (real or only mythological- we do not know!) slavonian Vojnomir is based on real (and not mythological) Voynomir the Slav. There are too many rumours about this Voynomir the Slav. If he was Friulian Slav, than he is not slavonian ruler. If he was Carniolian Slav, than... Please note, that croat hystorians can not provide final proof, based on X. century sources, that slavonian Vojnomir really existed at all. Voynomir the Slav is rather a common slavic heritage. But the page of slavonian Vojnomir is also needed in wikipedia, because it is a page about croat/slavonian ruler (real or mythological). Regards, -Bostjan46 (talk) 21:13, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've got only one response on slovenian wikipedia and non from the croat wikipedia... and the answer is neutral :/ But I have a good idea how to join all the information here and there and improve objectiveness at the same time.
