two virtuosi

[edit]

sorry but matt bellamy is hardly anything close to a piano virtuoso. Listen to Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 or Rachmaninov's 3rd Piano Concerto to just get an idea of what a piano virtuoso is. Insert non-formatted text here

Dweezil Zappa

[edit]

Dweezil Zappa Should really be included on this list. He has been signed to Steve Vai's label, one almost exclusively for virtuosi, Eric Johnson, and Pepino D'agostino among them. Links to pages referecing him as a virtuoso are here

So I'm taking the liberty of adding him.

David Gilmour and Alex Lifeson

[edit]

Whoever keeps taking David Gilmour and Alex Lifeson off the guitar virtusoso list needs to stop. Any fool can see the virtuosity in their work. Wether or not you like either band is irrelevant, the point is that these are extremely skilled guitarists, and as such, ar virtuosos.

--C'mon man, Rush is my favorite band but Lifeson is no virtuoso and Gilmour's technique lacks seriously (he has admitted to it in many interviews).

I agree with David Gilmour not being classified as such but how is Alex Lifeson not a virtuoso? Do you think Steve Morse isn't a virtuoso also?

Angus Young

[edit]

I don't know why some people underrate him. They obviously haven't heard much of his stuff if they do. But I put him on the list, and he was taken off. Can you play a minute long solo while spinning on the ground, or do one-handed tapping? -TMFSG

Well Uh, that sounds more like a bunch of gimmicks than actualy virtuosity. - Communist47

Umm...No,such tricks require some great amount of technical skill, you know.

Angus Young is an amazing musician as well as guitarist who single handedly shaped rock n' roll is the infamouse band AC/DC. He is obviously a great guitarist. He is not, however, a virtuoso.
