Virtual Assistance in other countries

[edit]

I would like to expand the subject to discuss specifics of Virtual Assistance in different countries. In Australia, virtual assistance is a relatively new concept and not as developed as in the USA. The same could be said of the UK and parts of Europe.

Specifically, I would like to include:

How to get started as a Virtual Assistant
What equipment you will need
What software is available to assist you
Information on the services that you can offer

There are a few new sites popping up that offer networking - example of this is VA Connect

Would anyone like to assist?

I consider both these articles too similar and too short to justify being separate. I prefer the target Virtual assistance, as the term is broader in sense, potentially including descriptions of both providers and customers of such services. I disagree. I just did a Google search specifically for Virtual Assistant, of which there is little reliable information out there about. "Virtual Assistance" is something you seek a "Virtual Assistant" for. They are separate. ([User:LeAnn P, Ketchikan,Alaska, U.S.A]15 Feb, 2012)
I know that one is the service and the other is the person, but I still think the scope is almost the same. The fact that there is little reliable information about one of the terms makes me doubt whether it's justified to have a separate article for it. I would have to disagree as well. Many people are aware of the term "virtual assistant" and this is the term most people would search on when using Google or another search engine. This can be verified by using the Google Keyword Tool which shows an average of 165,000 searches per month for "virtual assistant" significantly less for the term "virtual assistance". I think the lack of notability for one of the terms makes it unjustified to have a separate article for it, indicating a greater need to merge them. Mikael Häggström (talk) 08:13, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think they should be merged, until there is a time when there is enough information in both/each articles to merit diversion. I had to visit both articles to get limited information about the topic. Hopefully with a concise article it will provide a more substantive venue for information around the entire profession and services. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.44.112.78 (talk) 08:50, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the pages should be merged. If they are not merged, then the job description of a "virtual assistant" should be moved to the "virtual assistant" page. Chadlee123 (talk) 22:28, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
