"In the last years of her life she lived in an apartment on the Place Vendôme, where she had the rooms decorated in funereal black, the blinds kept drawn, and mirrors banished -- apparently so she would not have to confront her advancing age and loss of beauty." (Not by me) Presumably as unsourced? IF anyone has a source, please do the necessary. Rich Farmbrough, 21:43 8 December 2006 (GMT).

Source of "blinds kept drawn, and mirrors banished -- apparently so she would not have to confront her advancing age and loss of beauty." =>

Further to an long article (4 pages) in "Historia nb 656 (August 2001) " (French serious historical magazine) on the Countess de Castiglione I read, I wrote the french article on fr:Wikipédia and indeed, I found also those kind of details :
-blinds kept drawn
-mirrors banished
-she did not want to confront her advancing age and loss of beauty.
In the same way, they said inside the article from "Historia nb 656 ", that she never went out (from 1880s to her death) during the sunrise period in order to be quite sure to walk alone in the darkness of the night and not to confront people's stare.
Nevertheless, they did not speak about the "rooms decorated in funereal black"

Information needed

I would be very intrested to know if anyone has any facts about her son, his age at death and like wise her husband and the names of her other lovers. the wereabouts of her homes in passy and any information on her jewals. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.151.236 (talk) 14:52, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Could It be possible she liked the night better than the day?
